Art Club: Mies Van Hout

I fell in love with Mies Van Hout the first time I saw his books and I knew they would be perfect for my next Art Club class.  We looked at two of his books and how he was able to convey emotion with his drawings so beautifully using pastels.

                             

 

After we looked closely at the pictures, I put out construction paper and various kinds of pastel crayons and pencils and let the children create whatever they wanted. Here are some pictures of their creations:
